End Of the World (2009)

'End Of The World' (2009)

This is a re-recording of track two from the 2007 demo, with Andrei Bratu on guitar. The drums were first deleted with the intent of creating a new, more realistic line, but in the end the track was left with no drums, as this lead to a darker, more cryptic atmosphere. To build on this, the rythm guitar was down-tuned to a morbid dropped C.

The theme of the track is not the Apocalypse, as one might think, but simply Death. As the world is nothing but the perception of an individual, the death of the individual is also the end of the world - the object cannot exist without a subject. Sadness, hopelessness, resignation and time-sickness spread throughout the track.

The outcome of this recording (ironically, about death) meant the resurrection of The Pains Of Sleep.
